PGA Professionals are recognised throughout the world for their invaluable golfing knowledge, skills and experience.

PGA Awards and Achievements

Their abilities as coaches, retailers, custom-fitters, business men and women, officials and players are well known, but they are perhaps less well known for their commitment to charity, their fund-raising efforts and their support for local community projects.

The PGA seeks to recognise and reward the achievements of its' Members, both professionally and for more personal success in a number of ways.

Master Professional

The APAL scheme (Accreditation of Professional Achievement and Learning) operated by The PGA identifies PGA Professionals who have gone on to demonstrate higher levels of knowledge and skill in a variety of roles. The highest status of Membership is a 'PGA Master Professional'.

This Membership is only awarded to qualified Members held in high national or international esteem who have made a significant contribution to the development of golf as a player, coach, administrator, or course designer.

Toby Sunderland Award

The Toby Sunderland Award recognises an outstanding charitable act or contribution by a PGA Professional. PGA pros across the world regularly raise tens of thousands of pounds per year for charity and give their time freely to support causes close to their hearts. This ongoing support to community developments, national schemes and charities is recognised through the annual presentation of the Toby Sunderland Award.

Stuart Savage received the 2018 accolade for his voluntary work.

Toby Sunderland Award

PGA Assistant of the Year

The PGA Training Programme is recognised internationally for the quality of the educational experience it provides to PGA Assistant Professionals. The three-year programme covers a wide range of subjects relevant to a career as a PGA Professional and tests individual knowledge and skills through rigorous assessment.

The Titleist PGA Assistant of the Year award is made to the individual who achieves the highest average mark across all assessments over the three years.
