Coaching in Ireland

Coaching Golf in Ireland

The Confederation of Golf in Ireland oversees the development of grass roots junior golf in Ireland

This is a partnership between The PGA and the governing bodies of the amateur game in Ireland, the Golfing Union of Ireland and the Irish Ladies Golf Union.

The CGI is a not for profit organisation, created by the GUI, ILGU and The PGA to help advance the sport of golf on the island of Ireland, for the future.

The CGI complements the work of the associations as well as providing a necessary combined approach to certain key strategic areas in the future development of golf in Ireland.

The PGA in Ireland works closely with all parties to assess the demand for coaching and to support PGA professionals in the development and growth of golf.

The governing bodies of golf within Ireland share the desire to introduce more people to golf, to help more golfers reach their true potential, to ensure that more golfers are retained within the game for life, and to facilitate golf performances on the world stage. They recognise that coaching is central to achieving these goals.
