Coaching in Wales

Coaching Golf in Wales

In Wales, The PGA works in partnership with the Wales Golf to support the growth and development of golf in Wales.

The vision of Wales Golf is to make Golf ‘Everyone’s Game. Anywhere’. They aim to create and support an environment in Wales where golf is safe and accessible for everyone to participate, enjoy and progress.

PGA Professionals are central to sustaining the growth of the game of golf within Wales, but in order to meet the ever-increasing demand for coaching, particularly for juniors, there is a need to recruit volunteers to support coaching activity.

Individuals interested in becoming a volunteer coach in Wales should firstly make contact with their local PGA Professional to identify a place to coach and a supporting mentor.

The next step is to contact the Coach Education lead for Wales to enquire about accessing a Level 1 coach education course. At this stage individuals will be asked to identify where they will be coaching and which PGA Professional they will be working with as a mentor. Suitable volunteers will then be found a place on an appropriate coach education course in their local area.
