Gordon and McMaster head qualifiers for Deer Park Masters

Craig Gordon (Edinburgh Golf Centre) and Wellsgreen's Chris McMaster (above) jointly headed the 28 qualifiers for the main event on August 2-3 with four-under-par 68s at the Deer Park Masters qualifying round at the Livingston venue.

Gordon had seven birdies and a double bogey six at the 17th.

McMaster had his double bogey at the 18th after chalking up nine birdies, five of them in a row from the 12th to the 16th inclusive.

They finished a shot ahead of Gavin Hay (Grantown on Spey), the leading trio in the big field being the only men to shoot under the par of 72

The cut fell at 75 and the biggest name among the non-qualifiers was probably Jason McCreadie (Largs) on the 76 mark.
