Greig Hutcheon is off and running again at the head of the Tartan Tour pack in a new season.
The Paul Lawrie Golf Centre Inchmarlo tour pro shot a splendid five-under-par 65 to lift the £1,250 first prize in the 125th anniversary Largs Golf Club pro-am, sponsored by Harry Fairbairn.
Hutcheon had six birdies - the long third, sixth, short eighth, long 12th, 15th and 18th - and one bogey, at the seventh - as he finished a shot ahead of home-course man, Paul Robinson whose 66 was highlighted by an eagle three at the long 12th and six birdies. Four bogeys dragged him down to second place and a £1,000 payslip.
Third place and a £750 cheque want to Christopher Currie (Caldwell) who was five under par after 12 holes and on course to catch if not beat Hutcheon .... but up popped bogeys at the 13th and 14th and he had to par his way in for third place.
Marr Kerr (Marriott Dalmahoy) led the winning amateur team, Harry Fairbairn 1, with a net score of 57. The amateurs were Russell Borrie (handicap 18), Gregor Borrie (10) and Robert Wilson (12).
