Mixed event is a hit as Emery triumphs

Scott Emery fired a six-under-par 66 to win the inaugural PING Invitational Mixed Pro-Am at Gainsborough Golf Club.

The Woodhall Spa pro carded five birdies and an eagle over the Thornack Park course to win by two strokes from Holme Hall’s Paul Bradshaw and Grange Park’s Jonathan Drury.

The PING sponsored event attracted 21 teams consisting of professional, gentleman, lady and junior member from across the county’s clubs.

Woodhall Spa’s team of Bill Heath, Helen Heath and Ben Allen were victorious with a score of 125 in the team event.

Following its great success, the PGA in Lincolnshire has decided to hold the event again next year with the aim to increase the entry across the county.
