WELCOME TO PGA 2020 VISION
Recognising the enormous changes in golf and the need to evolve, The PGA’s new 2020 Vision initiative is the most significant structural change in the Association’s history.
As an organisation, we are seeking to extend the support we will provide both to our Members and the industry.

- Brings the wider golf industry together by providing support and a common language
We are turning one Membership category, that of PGA Professional, into three: PGA Professional, PGA Coach and PGA Manager. Each has its own clearly defined structure and learning pillars.
We have created a new digital CPD portal to help PGA Members learn in whichever way suits them.
We are adding two further Membership categories, called Business Management Group by PGA and Club Volunteer by PGA so help support and bring together the golf industry.
WHAT IS PGA 2020 VISION?
We recognise that golf is changing – and the organisation is evolving to prepare its Members for the future.
We will train our Members for golf in the 21st century – whether their role principally involves coaching, managing or the traditional head club professional position. Ensuring Members have the skills they need remains our priority.
That’s why we have introduced the categories of PGA Professional, PGA Coach and PGA Manager: Members can now choose their specialism.
We also seek to bring golf business together and provide support and a common language for the wider golf industry. That is why we are creating a Business Management Group that offers all those who work in golf the chance to receive training and networking opportunities under the PGA umbrella.
The PGA is also introducing a Club Volunteer category, aimed at the enthusiasts who chair and sit on committees at their clubs for the love of the game.
The PGA will offer remote learning opportunities to enable these Club Volunteers to learn and update their skills. Our goal is that PGA membership becomes a passport for working anywhere in the golf industry. It will ensure that all involved in the business of golf are speaking the same language.
We will provide our existing Members with improved networking and CPD opportunities as we ensure that their role in golf is increasingly relevant in the years ahead.
